Detail from asemic visual poetry collab by Norma Soulet (Port Saint Lucie, Florida, USA) and De Villo Sloan (Auburn, New York, USA)
Norma Soulet has already made one appearance on Asemic Front. I have also communicated with her via the IUOMA asemic writing group. If this was preparation in terms of creating the delicate “chemistry” involved in a successful collab, then I believe the time was well spent.
I am thrilled to have worked with Norma Soulet on these snail mail collabs. She was very clear from the beginning that she was new to asemics. During the collab process, she has – in my estimation – become a very fine asemic writer. She and I have also – I believe – adjusted our stylistic differences to create unity. Asemic Front continues to be a fascinating learning process for all of us involved.
