Ficus Disruptus: Collabs by Ficus strangulensis & De Villo Sloan (feat. Diane Keys)

fike dvs 2.28.2018 - 17u1Asemic visual poetry collab by Ficus strangulensis (West Virginia, USA) and De Villo Sloan (New York, USA) featuring “Self Portrait” by Diane Keys (Illinois, USA)

Ficus strangulensis is a regular and always welcome contributor to Asemic Front. In this installment, a Ficus experiment with deconstructing computer code and asemics inspired this series of deconstructive variations.

Several years ago I had the rare pleasure of helping to facilitate a collab between Diane Keys and Ficus strangulensis that resulted in the (in)famous “shotpo” performances and related documentation. A relatively large audience enjoyed and appreciated that effort. We had a great time, and I noted the collaborative chemistry between Fike and Diane was strong. I hope I bring something to this new effort. The use of two self-portraits by Diane Keys – I believe – greatly enriches this series.
